Daily Wine Tidbits

So you know that indentation at the bottom of wine bottles? That thing actually has a name and it's called the "punt". Could be used for storage purposes or for your waiter or waitress to grab onto while they're pouring..Or it's there because the glass blower put it there..but the real reason it's there is for any excess sediment to fall down and seep into the edges of the bottle. Interesting, huh?
